Publications Manager

This job description should represent the roles and responsibilities at the time of appointment. However, due to the dynamic nature of the work in the Office for the New Evangelisation (ONE), the key tasks and responsibilities could evolve over time. Adaptability to such changes should be considered a key requirement of working in ONE.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a passionate and organised Publications Manager to lead the development of high-quality print and digital publications to support the Church’s mission of evangelisation. You will oversee the creation of print and digital materials across multiple platforms in a fast paced and collaborative environment. This role involves working closely with the ONE formation and communications teams, while collaborating with writers, designers and parishes to deliver relevant, accessible and theologically sound publications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Publications Strategy

  • Lead the development of ONE’s publications strategy to equip the Church’s mission to evangelise.
  • Identify emerging evangelisation needs and create new print and digital resources.

Content Delivery

  • Oversee the production of print and digital publications, including booklets, videos, podcasts, and online courses.
  • Work closely with writers, designers, and content specialists to ensure publications are high-quality, relevant and theologically sound.

Platform Management

  • Curate and expand ONE’s library.
  • Work closely with the communications team to make publications accessible to parishes, organisations, and individuals.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with parishes and ministry leaders to understand needs and provide relevant content to support their formation and evangelisation efforts.
  • Build meaningful partnerships with Catholic publishers, academic institutions, and other organisations to enhance the quality, relevance, and reach of ONE’s publication offerings.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Communications, English, Publishing, Education, Theology or a related field.
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in publications, content development, educational media or related roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage end-to-end publications projects, including planning, timelines, workflows, and delivery.
  • Strong editorial skills, with experience reviewing, refining and shaping content for accessibility, relevance and clarity.
  • Exposure to Catholic teaching or a willingness to learn and apply theological guidance in publications.
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • A disposition that is action-oriented, adaptive and innovative.
